There is no darkness without light, no yin without yang.
A child feels happy easily, at little things, because she has not really experienced the darker side of life. This happiness does not last because we all grow up.
Happiness is a choice. To me, a truly happy person is also a strong person, who embraces her darker side with all its anger, sadness and ugliness.
She chooses to be happy again the next morning after the tears in the seemingly endless night. She knows she has faults, but chooses to look at them in a positive light. “The landscape is the same; it only changes in the eye of the beholder”.
So don’t be puzzled, my dear friend. Know that you are strong and not contradictory to have such extreme characteristics, because your brighter personality is never out-shadowed by your darker side!
